Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she's never looked better....

Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford it -- not any of it.

"A man will never love you or treat you as well as a store. If a man doesn’t fit, you can’t exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater. And a store always smells good. A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed. And when your fingers first grasp those shiny, new bags…"

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

Everyone has something to hide—especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna.
Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily's crushing on the new girl at school. And Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful.
But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished.
How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were and the naughty girls they are now. And guess what? I'm telling.

"Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead."
Benjamin Franklin

"Its not bragging if its true."
— Sara Shepard

"Never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret"
— Sara Shepard

"Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone."
— Dorothy Parker

"Its more fun to think of the future than dwell on the past."
— Sara Shepard (Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars, #4))

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent children. They are charming, and resourceful, and have pleasant facial features. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally unlucky.
In the first two books alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, a lumpy bed, a deadly serpent, a large brass reading lamp, a long knife, and a terrible odour.
In the tradition of great storytellers, from Dickens to Dahl, comes an exquisitely dark comedy that is both literary and irreverent, hilarious and deftly crafted. Never before has a tale of three likeable and unfortunate children been quite so enchanting, or quite so uproariously unhappy.

At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe us when we say that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may, in fact, be the first steps of a journey.

"The sad truth is the truth is sad."
 Lemony Snicket (The Hostile Hospital)

"It is one of life's bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are really getting interesting."
Lemony Snicket (The Grim Grotto)

"Strange as it may seem, I still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be lost so easily."
 Lemony Snicket (The Beatrice Letters)

"I don't know if you've ever noticed this, but first impressions are often entirely wrong."
Lemony Snicket (The Bad Beginning)

"This is my knife. It is very sharp and very eager to hurt you."
Lemony Snicket (The Reptile Room (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #2))

Sanctuary... is a word which here means a small, safe place in a troubling world. Like an oasis in a vast desert or an island in a stormy sea.

If you have ever lost someone very important to you, then you already know how it feels; and if you haven't, you cannot possibly imagine it.

I don't know if you've ever noticed this, but first impressions are often entirely wrong

"Miracles are like meatballs, because nobody can exactly agree on what they are made of, where they come from, or how often they should appear."
— Lemony Snicket (The Carnivorous Carnival)

Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

About three things I was absolutely positive:

First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.
Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

"Look after my heart, I've left it with you."
Stephenie Meyer

"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb..." he murmured.
I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
What a stupid lamb," I sighed.
What a sick, masochistic lion."
— Stephenie Meyer (Twilight)

"Twilight, again. Another ending. No matter how perfect the day is, it always has to end. (Edward)"
— Stephenie Meyer (Twilight)

"Death is Peaceful, Life is Harder"
— Stephenie Meyer (Twilight)
